Jerrold Leikin, MD, Director of Medical Toxicology
Dr. Leikin is a nationally recognized leader in toxicology. He received his medical degree from the Chicago Medical School and then completed his combined residency in Internal Medicine and Emergency Medicine at Northwestern University. Along with his duties as the Director of Medical Toxicology at NorthShore, he is also an attending physician at Children’s Memorial Hospital and in the Department of Medicine in the Section of Clinical Toxicology at Cook County Hospital. He has presented more than 100 abstracts at national meetings and has published nearly 200 peer-reviewed articles in medical journals. Dr. Leikin has served as the Co-Editor of Poisoning and Toxicology Handbook, the American Medical Association Handbook of First Aid. He also works closely with the Illinois Poison Control Center.
